A New Episode of WAR ON NATURE Premieres: Saving the Heart of Borneo
In this episode of War on Nature, join Global Conservation and Conservation Photojournalist Paul Hilton as we journey deep into the heart of Malaysian Borneo to uncover one of Asia’s last intact primary rainforests—DaMaI. This secluded ecosystem, comprising Maliau Basin, Imbak Canyon, and the Danum Valley, is a critical sanctuary for endangered species like Bornean pygmy elephants, clouded leopards, and orangutans.
Bornean Orangutans is a Critically Endangered species and one of the two species of orangutans that Global Conservation actively protects.
Despite its global importance, 80% of Malaysian Borneo has already been degraded by deforestation, and in 2019, the Sumatran rhinoceros was declared extinct in the region. Without urgent action, more species and habitats will be lost forever.
Global Conservation is committed to protecting the last wild places like DaMaI. By supporting anti-logging efforts and rainforest preservation, we can safeguard this extraordinary ecosystem for future generations.
