Carpathians National Park, Ukraine 2024 Progress
Located in the headwaters of the Black and White Cheremosh rivers in the Chyvchyn Mountains on the border with Romania, Verkhovyna National Nature Park showcases pristine natural landscapes formed over millions of years. The project aims to develop Verkhovyna as a key tourist and rehabilitation hub within the Carpathian region by enhancing tourism infrastructure, supporting nature conservation efforts, and promoting inclusive tourism practices.
TREK FOR UKRAINE: Promote Peace, Support Ukraine’s Recovery
Trek for Ukraine is an outdoor event organized by Global Conservation and its partners, taking place from August 20 to 27, 2025, in the Carpathian Mountains of Romania and Ukraine. The event aims to gather thousands of participants to promote peace, support Ukraine’s recovery, and contribute to the sustainable development of the Ukrainian Carpathians.

Global Conservation is continuing to provide support to our friends and colleagues in Carpathian National Nature Park (CNNP), including restoring two ranger stations.
Carpathian National Nature Park Progress 2021
In 2021, Global Conservation and our partners made substantial progress in improving park and wildlife protection for CNNP by deploying Global Park Defense, as well as initating biodiversity monitoring of critically endangered species like the European Mink.
