Leonardo DiCaprio and Adrian Brody came to Leuser in 2016 to raise awareness and began a multi-year funding of over $4 million, enough to move the needle.
After The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation funded over $4 million to help protect Leuser Ecosystem,in Sumatra Indonesia, Global Conservation celebrates a new campaign from the fashion industry led by Stella McCartney and friends.
Global Conservation has been funding core protection, law enforcement, ranger patrols and park management over the past eight years, including FKL Ranger Patrols, new technologies for Global Park Defense, and HaKA legal and policy work.
"We are thrilled to see the fashion industry and popular celebrities focusing on critical ecosystem conservation – before its too late," said Jeff Morgan, Executive Director. "Palm Oil use by cosmetics, fast foods and shopping mall treats are destroying our last wildlife habitats and tropical forests for the greed of a few company owners and there financiers, suppliers and distributors."
