In January, Global Conservation undertook two missions to GC Projects – DaMaI World Heritage Park in Sabah Borneo, Malaysia and Leuser Ecosystem, Aceh Sumatra, Indonesia.
Goals of these missions included:
- Meeting with Government and NGO Partners
- Review of 2017 Progress and 2018 Planning
- Travel with Major Donors to GC Projects
- Investigate Illegal Activities – Logging, Land Clearing, Wildlife Poaching and Hunting
- Deploy Global Park Defense Systems – Setup Command Centers, Cellular Trailcams, Global Forest Watch Satellite Monitoring, SMART Ranger Patrols, UAV Drone Overflights
