Global Conservation Releases New Book - Saving the New Wild
Global Conservation has just released Saving The New Wild, a new book about our efforts to save endangered UNESCO World Heritage and national parks in developing countries.
Now available at savingthenewwild.org
Saving The New Wild showcases park and wildlife protection at fourteen UNESCO World Heritage and national parks and as seen through the lenses of top photojournalists including Paul Hilton, Andrea Pistoli, others.
The images show the beauty of these intact forests, ecosystems and wildlife parks, as well as destruction wrought by man-made illegal logging, mining, deforestation and wildlife poaching.
“Global Conservation doesn’t just provide park authorities with the technology, they go in and train rangers on the Global Park Defense system. They also work with local communities and national governments to strengthen park and wildlife protection and law enforcement.”
Michael Sutton, Executive Director, Goldman Environmental Foundation
Saving The New Wild showcases fourteen national parks and World Heritage Sites as seen through the lenses of top photojournalists including Paul Hilton. The images show the beauty of these wild spaces, as well as destruction wrought by deforestation and wildlife poaching.
Fascinating articles written by Dr. Jen Guyton of National Geographic tell the stories of these places and how technology and training is increasing park and wildlife protection.
Saving The New Wild presents Global Conservation’s work with color-coded page edges that designate continents, with global marine parks having their own section. Maps of these parks and surrounding areas were created just for this book, including some parks never before mapped.
Global Conservation is the only international nature conservation group whose sole mission is the direct funding of park and wildlife protection - Global Park Defense - for saving the most important and endangered world heritage and national parks in developing countries.
The printed book can be ordered online; as well a digital edition is available for download at savingthenewwild.org
